What is the Response & 10-75 chief Response for the 21,22,23

I saw it some where and I cant seem to find it

This map is from NYC Open Data... it is of the ?Fire Battalions? according to the site.

The top right area of the map is BC21 First Due area. The top left area is BC22 First Due area. And the bottom half of the map is BC23 First Due area. You can see the 22 and 23 have a large area to cover.

Today?s SI All-Hands Jobs occurred in opposite ends of BC23?s area.

Now according to your question signal, the 21 would be 2nd Due into the 23 on the East side of the island. The 22 would be 2nd Due into the 23 on the West side of the island. Most south shore jobs in the middle of the 23 have the 22 as 10-75 Chief. They have faster access to these parts using the West Shore EXPWY which is all the way on the left of the map.

The 21 and 22 split the north shore so ANY job on that half of the island will have the 2 BC?s together and not the 23 - if normal assignments are available that is.

Hope this helps.

Is there a list of how many square miles each battalion in the city covers? I know the 23 has the biggest area.

Battalion 23's response area is larger than Manhattan.
This may be why the 23 requests for an extra 1&1 while enroute to some far boxes when there?s a fire. Better to have the resources start out? Noticed this atleast twice recently.

PD's in close proximity to each other burning freely for 15 plus minutes prior to any units arriving facilitates advanced bodies of fire.

same 3 BC's on the Island since 1930 - when there was maybe 20% the population there is now ..... pathetic

The 47 Batt. probably has longer runs than the 23.

47th Bn Breezy Point runs would be longer than 23rd Bn runs to Tottenville and other South Shore locations. Both battalions can have 9-10 mile runs depending upon where they are located when received.

Guys,

If you check the  city maps they only show you the administration area for all units. Check the BC maps against the companies adm maps.  Look at the 23 Batt. If you check E-165 & L-85. the peak in the 23 Batt area belongs to one of those companies.

One of the best examples that I can tell you is to look at the Bronx.  Batt 3's area stops a few blocks from Batt 20's qtrs because of E-64 & L-47 adm areas.

Sorry!
