Swap meets

Went to Mundelien Illinois swap meet. Sorry to say it is a shell of its former self. When I first went there in 82, there were three halls, and you had to drive around looking for a parking space, ala Thanksgiving week-end at the mall. Then parking was expanded but it was still crowded. Today, no problem parking near the entrance. One hall. 3/4 filled. Some Code 3 people were dumping at 50% off. But what aggrevates me is putting stuff out with no price. on it. Ask. if the price is way high you feel like a jerk. And some prices are just stupid. One more thing, if you have a lot of Code 3 stuff make it easy to see what you have. One guy had good stuff, but 5 high and 6 deep kinda defeats the purpose. Just info for other shows. GG

There used to be an annual muster & swap meet at Vallhala NY at the Keniscoe Dam Resevoir just a short distance above NYC it was every June & was a big event w/Company picnics & interested guys coming from many areas then it disapeared.....it was attempted to be revived farther upstate in Cornwall On The Hudson but it did not get the turnout & stopped after a few years.....the ENG*260 Muster in Milford Connecticut still is held in early September...it used to be big but i have not been to it in years so i dont know how it is holding up...the last few years the day it was held conflicted w/9-11 events here in NYC...for the most part all 3 of the above meets offered reasonably priced tables for vendors as opposed to some of the higher prices at others...the spring Thaw at Allentown Pa. is a little expensive for a vendor & wants tax collected on sales....this year it seemed to be a little light also as far as old stuff......maybe the internet w/e bay has put a damper on swap meets ....any thoughts?
