I know this is an old thread, came across it while looking for something else. 11-10-30 Boston opened its own 'big house' in Bowdoin Square. It had 5 apparatus bays and 2 smaller bays. As of 12-31-53 it housed: E 4 and 6, L 24, R 3, Water Tower 1, Lighting Plant 1 and District 4. Closed 10-28-63, building was razed for construction of the hideous Government Center. Wonder if Mack has a pix?
