Hundreds of passengers escape after jet collides with small plane on its way to Japan quake zone

All 379 people on board Japan Airlines Flight 516 escaped the blaze in what's being called a "miracle" after the plane collided with a coastguard aircraft. Five people on board the other plane have died, local media reports.

CNN has video of this. Unbelieveable that all survived on the JAL aircraft, kudos to the crew for their actions in getting everybody off the plane. This reminds me of an incident where everyone survived an mishap several years ago due to the actions of the crew. This is why you listen to that briefing prior to take-off.

CNN now reports 5 of the 6 Coast Guard plane crew members killed, with the 6th, the pilot, in critical condition.

Yes truly amazing that they were able to evacuate all the people on board the larger aircraft. Great video taken from inside the cabin at the moment of impact and subsequent evacuation. Footage shows the ARFF crews doing a phenomenal job of keeping Fire away from evacuation slides in order to allow occupant to escape A tip o da helmet to the ARFF crews.
