From "Ladder 85" & "NYCFireBuffs" on Facebook:

FDNY Tower Ladder 85 recently received a 2014 75' Seagrave TL, and now its going to Tower Ladder 79.

T085 will now receive a brand new 95' Tower Ladder.

T085 used to be a 95', the only 95' on Staten Island - but it didn't fit in the firehouse.

When T084's new TL came in they gave it to 85. That's when 84 became a rear mount.

Now there will again be a 95' on the island, and 79 will now receive a new rig, which they are due for.

85's rigs numbers and decals have already been removed.

T085 is in a super residential neighborhood, but 1st due to Staten Island University Hospital which may require a 95' bucket at times.

"Monster Truck" is again going to be a monster of a rig. And don't forget that the new E165 squad type engine will be delivered soon. (Quartered with 85)

are you going by the photo that was circulating today of a tower ladder in 165's quarters with no numbers?  if you are you should know that was an unassigned 95' tower ladder.  NOT L85's current 75' tower.  that is why it did not have markings on it.

I thought the FDNY only ordered 14 95` tower ladders. when did they get this one?

Sandy replacement for the one that destroyed (L161's old rig)

On July 2, 85 was operating a brand new truck. I couldn't get a good look or near it to see if it was a 75' or 95'.

Also, I thought the reason for assigning L85 a 75' was also due to the 95' had a cracked chassis.
