I don’t know if that’s true or not, but I drove one of those rigs, while I never hit any cars but I did end up with Pop Eye armsI had always heard that when the FDNY ordered new pumpers in the 1960s if the new pumper had NO POWER STEERING the FDNY got a free Partner Saw with each new pumper. I wonder how many extra parked cars were scraped due to no power steering in those Engine Companies.
