AED = Annual Eduction Day
PMP = Preventive maintainice Program
So when you see AED/PMP for a unit. They will go out of service at 0900hrs, remove equipment from the rig and the shops will pick up the rig.
Daytour Members will report to the rock instead of the firehouse.

Do these two always go together or sometimes a company will have AED and anotehr time PMP?
How do members get to the rock if shops picks up the rig?
In PMP, does the shops give a rig a look over to find any problems?

AED is held at the Rock , usually the apparatus is taken that morning and given PMP. This happens about every 4 months or so. When company has medicals the apparatus usually remains in quarters unmanned. The medicals are given at metro tech. On AED you get to Rock in own vehicle, most meet at firehouse and carpool. Same for medicals you are on your own to get to metro tech. The Apparatus is taken by light duty fireman to Rock for PMP and then driven back after service. Rig is given a thorough service and sometimes remains into night tour start if extra repairs are needed, usually oil, anti-freeze, pump,aerial test and safety inspection is done.
