Just want to keep everyone informed that TSU 2 was refurbished to last until the new TSU units. Thought it would be good advice to share to all the buffs out there.

I am guessing it must be a big combination of parts from both units plus the spare ? It's good they got one of them going

dont really see the point of refurbing a unit that will be replaced in a matter of months while TSU1 is holding up well at R5 and the Mack is doing fine at SOC.

They may still keep the refurb as a spare. Im not sure how many of the new ones they are getting.

Any idea what kind of work was done?  Cosmetic, such as paint and lights, or more thorough such as rebuilt engine, tranny, etc.?

Judging by how often that rig was mechanically O.O.S. it definitely had to be mechanical.

TSU 2 was done in by Sandy supposedly so any refurb work would probably be starting with electrical and then...well...everything else except for maybe the windows...

Saw TSU 1 yesterday at the Bronx All Hands shelving collapse, still using the Mack rescue spare.

Buzzman did you mean that the vehicle that tsu 2 is using is a refurbished unit or that the vehicle marked tsu 2 has been or is being refurbished ?? I am guessing that they refurbished one of the tsu units for tsu 2 to use and it happened to be the former tsu 1 which they have been using.
