To all the vets out there may you have a happy and healthy Veteran's Day, with many more to come.  My daughters husband was a Navy doctor. They lived in Beaufort, SC as he was stationed at the Marine Corp. Air Station in Beaufort. Outside the main gate of the base was a large billboard reading "The Noise You Hear Is The Noise Of Freedom."I asked him about the billboard and he said it came from a short visit by famous singer/actress who was shooting a movie in Beaufort. It seems that one morning a Marine F14 flew low over her rented house at 8AM waking and annoying her. She called the base to complain and was actually put in touch with the commanding general. She told the general how she had a late shoot the night before and "this noise woke her." The general told her he was sorry and that for the rest of her rental stay no jet would fly over her house at 8AM. The next morning at 7:55 a F14 flew over her house. The billboard went up a few weeks later.  The second billboard was a few days after 9/11, also in Beaufort. It showed a FDNY member handing a tattered American flag to a marine. The billboard stated the marine saying "we'll take it from here." God bless all who have served and are serving in America's military.
