Incident Location: 126 Hempstead Turnpike
On the night of Thursday, April 4th, 2024, the West Hempstead Fire Department along with mutual aid companies operated on the scene of a signal ten [working fire] on Hempstead Turnpike off Westminster Road. Firefighters stretched two hand lines and put at least one hand line into operation for fire in an eyewear store – one of several businesses within the one-story taxpayer. Firefighters had the fire quickly extinguished and were able to keep it to the store of origin. The cause of the fire is under investigation and there were no reported injuries. All fire department units were under the command of West Hempstead Chief of Department Vogt [7600]. (Text Credit: K2M)
