Westchester County Airport- Missing Aircraft 01-19-23

Location: I/A/O Kensico Reservoir/Rye Lake
Description: Small plane with (2) onboard declared an emergency and went off radar on approach to Westchester Airport (HPN). FAA reporting last known location as in the area of Webers Cove and Dark Hollow.

2020hrs- DEP with a boat in the water. WC DES and WCPD on location with drones.

2245hrs- Wreckage located in a wooded area between Rye Lake and Dark Hollow with (2) DOA.

Two casualties confirmed overnight, plane was found hung up in trees on a peninsula in the Kensico Resivoir, casualties were apparently found on the ground in the immediate area. RIP
