What is FDNY SOP on elevator use at hi-rise jobs?

When is it permitted and how many floors below the fire floor must FFs stop the car and exit?

if the job is on the 7th floor or high we take the elevator.  1st due ov takes command f the elevator and is responsable for operating it thoughout the duration of the job.  We usually take it to 2 floors below the fire floor thats whats written in the books

The other situation you might run into would be a fire in a low floor of the high rise bank.of elevators.  In that case you might take the low rise elevators to the top and walk up a few extra floors. No chance the elevator stopping when it doesn't serve the fire floor
