Yet another question...thanks to those who've reponded to my previous question.

On several video clips I 've seen taken of or near the officer/chauffer seats on FDNY apparatus a ringing bell, like that of an old phone, can be heard.  What is that?  Is it some sort of alert indicating there is new message on the MDT or something similar?  (it's definately not the low air alert on an airpack)

Thanks, again!

The ringing you hear is the alert that indicates the  MDT receiving a new message.

Indicates a new run, or when a signal is giving on a box or when going 10-8

It means You can go 10-8 , You get another run , or another unit arrives at the box you are responding to.
