Who else just watched the high rise rescue at 289 Nepperhan Ave in Yonkers live on the news. A firefighter Mike Giroux (if that is the correct spelling) repelled down from the roof twice to bring down two trapped workers from a collasped scaffold. Nice job. Hopefully Mike (truck4) was working and can give us more info.

It was a 28 story high apartment house, victims trapped about mid-way.  CBS-TV News had a helicopter overhead for the rescue operation.

....safety lines were handed off to the workers through the two closest windows with a pole. Once the workers were tied off and the scaffold (on the south/west corner of the roof)secured, Member was lowered down to the workers. The workers did not speak english so one ESU cop had to communicate with them out the window. FD used a full 2nd alarm assignment. More later....
