Don't have much info yet working a 4th Alarm Fire Union St @ State St.

Guilford Fire requested on the 4th Alarm. Very long ride for Guilford

That is correct.
Fire was located at 35 Union St known as the Crocker House Apartments.
The building is a five-story brick and contains 81 apartments

At 5:33 pm the Norwich Fire Departments Battalion 1 and Truck 1 was requested as the FAST Co on the 2nd alarm.
However, the fire quickly escalated to a 4th alarm with 5th alarm companies staging.
Numerous other fire departments responded along with additional EMS

There were reports of injuries with people trapped on the upper floors.

The Norwich FAST Co was released from the scene at 7:13 pm
 
4 residents taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation, with 2 more evaluated at the scene.
1 firefighter taken to the hospital for heat exhaustion.
Fire appears to have started in the rear 2nd and 3rd floor area.
Estimated that 20 apartments have received damage and residents cannot return to their apartments at this time.
Red Cross is assisting them.

Living in Connecticut now would love to see a rundown on this. I don't remember a fourth alarm ever in New London. If Guilford is covering must have been a lot of out of town departments involved here.
