New Seagraves

Someday I hope Mack will start making fire apparatus again. In my first few years in the FDNY every Engine andView attachment 55260 every Tower Ladder and Every Rescue rig was a Mack, and they were truly work horse's. The Seagrave were also good rigs, but nothing looked as good as a Mack. Below is my favorite of favorite FDNY Macks, the FDNY Mack R of Rescue 1. Captain Bob Rainey FDNY Engine 26 retired
Mack only really exists in name only now. Quality also ain't the same

I am saddened to hear that Mack has slipped in quality. I guess that the slip in quality is especially true with all other brands of fire apparatus. I am also a 50+ year Volunteer firefighter, and the Pierce apparatuses we have have many problems, especially with the Departments 95 ft. Tower Ladder, that is not used really that much for T.L. fire operations. Hopefully the litigation against the price fixing of fire apparatuses, current in the courts will also have some effect on the quality of these expensive rigs.
