Fire in the cockloft of a 6 story MD 60 X 100

To disengage the motor from the chain sprocket at top
Of door need to pull a metal cable. If that works the chain to raise the door is then operated. Pull like a maniac to raise the door as the gearing makes it a very slow process. Rig pulls out then have to lower. If that did work for 55 probably could
Take off and a LD aide in divison would be around to watch door until lowered and 55 could go to job

As bx engine wrote above you have no idea if the cable to disengage will actually work until you pull it. Definitely not something we’d check on. I remember having problem 2x with manual operation. Once the cable just broke when pulled and another time it just did not disengage.

In any event if you hit the button to open door on a response and it doesn’t work and need to go to manual you’re
