seems like the whole program there needs to just be re-organized and restructured they should just develop a hazmat company for each of the Boros and call it good.
Do you have any idea what that would cost to fund , man , train and equip 4 more Hazmat companies … it would be astronomical! And besides the logistics of finding a suitable location in each Boro and finding members that would actually want to volunteer to man them …next to imposable …each new company requires at lest 30, 32 FF’s and 4 officers. Also the work load doesn’t support the need for four new hazmat only companies.

The squads were originally formed to expand the haz mat capabilities of the job. At the time the job realized that they wouldn’t get members to volunteer to staff new hazmat only companies so they threw in the bone of adding the rescue and fire duty incentive of the rescue operations to sweeten the pot to get volunteers. Then a few years after that the job further add the 4 haztec engines by equipping and training existing engine companies .
Haz Mat Ops =
Haz Mat 1 ( the mother ship)
4 haz tech Eng companies
Haz mat battalion.
The 8 Squads fall under Rescue Ops.
