Was there a bunch of other activity at the time? 44 seems like an odd pick as the HMTU... obviously 270 is closer but I assume they were tied up... SQ252, SQ61?

One way that these LI-Ion incidents might be significantly diminished. Have the city amend the F.P Codes to prohibit charging and/or storage of any E-bikes or other Battery operated delivery devices inside any structure. Then the insurance companies can amend their NY policies to state that if fire damage is caused by the willful disregard of the FP Code, the insurance Co. retains the right to deny any claims due to fire damage through policyholder negligence.
MAYBE THEN, these idiots that still insist on bringing these bikes etc. indoors will finally wake up and save their property - AND keep the members safe.

Hasn't Squad 1 been sent to Staten Island when Squad 8 has a job in its first alarm area?
That applies to all the squads when they're first due they operate as an engine, the next squad gets assigned to respond in as a squad. Not specific to SI

This fire was caused by a e bike fdny urges New Yorkers to buy UL listed batteries and keep them outdoors away from flammable materials or keep them out of your homes and businesses not indoors due to a potential fire risk also charge the bike or scooters outside with batteries

2 questions/comments on this last video.

129 is first due but set up on the side street? Is this so that the tower ladder can take side 1 on a commercial tax payer?

The member climbing the portable in the beginning looked a little shaky on the ladder. I've always felt it was safer and more comfortable to take the aerial than the portable. 129 is set up a few feet from the portable, just wondering if there was an advantage to using the portable as opposed to the aerial.

"shaky"? - up the ladder & on the roof in 45 seconds - with the saw!!!, not bad

Curious here also. Is there a reason to have chosen the portable ladder to the roof when 129’s stick is right next to it. Again - just asking as someone who is not a member, I’m sure there was a logical reason for their choice.
