Same thing down here for E.1/L.5. They had a hi rise project behind the firehouse and for fun the locals would shoot at the kitchen windows. The project was eventually torn down.

Capt, this has been like that for as long as I remember. Once our fire communications hears that the entire box is in service then a D.C. is dispatched who then takes command of the fire ground and a lot of B.C.'s don't like that.

Found this,,the sound isn't very good because of how long ago it was. There was also other jobs including the 3 alarms that you might notice in the back ground.

It's too bad there's not a lot of video except for the local news coverage. I believe there's some audio of the job available.

I guess that's it. I just haplened to pick up that designation while going through a list someone posted of the history of every FDNY units locations over the years and I saw a tall ladder 1 and a tall ladder 2 and I was wondering what they were.

I was reading another thread that had a listing of units and former units and their locations and I noticed something called Tall Ladder 1 and Tall Ladder 2. Anybody know why they were called Tall Ladders. Thanks.
