Fire Location: 273 Edison St off Otis.

Heavy fire thru the roof private dwelling.

An example of how scarce middle SI fire coverage is. The pattern is increasing. First due 165/85 unavailable at first causes long first due runs for next in companies.
 
I'm surprised FDNY does not 'Cover' S.I. Units o.o.s. Medicals w/ Relocators.  ???
 
I?m sure when TL85 was done with the overturned salt spreader box they had no problem going into the 2nd alarm in their first due area. Salt spreader Box was on the other side of their response area tho - decently far from this job.

Also: If E159 was 1st due to this job and the SAT backup engine (152) was OOS all day, who takes SAT5 which should be on the AH transmission?

  I saw a photo with a firefighter (possibly ECC) wearing E284 jacket standing in front of the fire bldg.
 
Take out 152 and 165 that puts SI at 16 active engines for the day. This fire takes up half of those.

I thought 165 was a must fill if they are OOS?
 
85 was FAST truck ....1st and 2nd due trucks were on side street since it was corner building.  165 had a relocator on the way but they were not in area yet when the box came in. E284 and ST03 were assigned since 159 was operating and 152 OOS.
