"Early this morning, FDNY units responded to a report of a a fire in a junkyard at West Fordham Road and the Harlem River in the Bronx. FDNY units arrived to find a heavy volume of fire which was deep seated and burning out of control. Marine Companies 4 and 6 led by the Marine Battalion were able to position their vessels and apply water on the fire to extinguish the deep seated pockets of fire that were inaccessible to units on land. FDNY units on land were able to use Tower Ladder streams and hose-lines to extinguish fire. The collaboration between Marine Companies and FDNY resources on land led to the safe and quick extinguishment of this fire."
