10/18/2010 All Hands Box 2141

Why was this box 2141 (Brook & 137th St.) if this fire was on Willis & 137th when there two closer boxes: 2136-Willis & 136th or 2149-Willis & 138th St.? ???

The address entered in Starfire may give a different box number. There have been times where the residents will say 137 Willis, or 137 Brook, when they mean 137 and Brook. I remember putting in my grandmothers address up in Norwood and got one particular box. Somewhere along the way the number got changed. The original box number is closer by about a block. Don't get too worked up, 60 and 17 are still first due.  ;)

Would the initial address being an intersection have any affect? When this went out as a phone alarm, it was for the intersection of 137 & Willis, address later given by BC14.

Except that 137th & Willis is a L-O-N-G distance west of 137th & Brook. There's another intersecting street, Brown Pl. between Willis and Brook with a hill that peaks at 137th which puts Brook & 137th in a valley so even line of sight to Willis cannot be made if you're standing at Brook and 137th. On Brown Pl. there's box 2148 @138th & 2135 @136th St. that are closer to Willis & 137th than Brook & 137th.  >:(
