4/17/19 Brooklyn 5th Alarm Box 3005

Another video with fireground audio of the incident by LOUDLABS NEWS NYC.  It starts earlier when they were still operating inside before going to external operations.
Note at 13:00 that TL159's nozzle inadvertently started shooting water while the bucket was still on the truck.  Also note a drone (is it FDNYs ?) at 25:40.

Pardon the Rant - I'll be 62 tomorrow  ;)

"E-330 w/ Sat. 3"

  Sat.3  @ 284/149 ? "E-284 & Sat. 3 Brooklyn (E-330 Back Up)" ( a move I Never Understood since Sat.5 is like 5 Min.s from the Vz. @ Eng.159)  I remember 'Back in the day' Sat.3 was @ 330/172; would come roaring down Ave. 'L' from Bay Pkwy. to get to Kings Hwy., Nostrand Ave., Flatbush Ave., Utica Ave, etc ... More Logical than 79 St. & 12 Ave.

Does this mean E.330 had to travel from 65 St. & Bay Pkwy to 79th & 12th to get the Satellite; to then bring it all the way over to Flatbush & Ave. P ?
No wonder they s/c Sat.6; 207 &'6' could have made it to Ave. P and back to Tillary St. in that time.

This morning at 9:15am I saw E253 at the scene of the 5th alarm on Flatbush Ave. Over 2 weeks and FDNY still maintaining a presence.

Satellite @ E284. From what I recall, Hdqtrs wanted the Division there & the it was fought internally & with the Community Boards help. In return, Hdqtrs. stuck them with the Satellite.
  So, who won that one?

With the amount of people working in a Division office these days, and the addition of vehicles (the chief's car and at least the division messenger and passenger vans), I'd say Headquarters lost.
Having the Satellite adds one rig and no additional personnel.

Half of Brooklyn Lost; Sat.3 placed in Deep SW Corner of the Borough, Sat.5 like
10 - 15 Min.s away across VZ. Bridge  ::)

Thanks for the info, Men.

According to the articles of the time (1965), the original three Satellites were positioned for city-wide response by placing them in close proximity to bridges and highways.
The addition of two Satellites in 1983 did not result in relocating the original three, nor did the implementation of the 6th Satellite in 1998.
Satellite 1 and Satellite 6 are are only a mile and a half apart on either end of the Manhattan Bridge.
