4/17/19 Brooklyn 5th Alarm Box 3005

Division 12 was supposed  to go too Engine 284 in the middle 1990's. 284/149 and the residents of the block fought it and the Division went to 330 and the Satellite  went too 284. In those days the division only had the chief and the aide.  One light duty Lt worked 5 days a week as the administrator. Nothing like how the divisions are staffed today. 1995 the 12th division  was disbanded to reorganize  the 8th division in Staten Island.

Just a question: why would 284/149 not want the Division quartered with them, so much so that they and the block fought it?

I vaguely remember them being in 250?s qtrs.
I believe to, answer the other?, the companies didn?t want the Division there because it would, maybe, ?upset the Applecart?. It was basically, a ?camp? then & all along. Busier now & since Satellite went in.

And before 242 they were in 250. Parking and noise

Division 12 was with E250 from 1930 to 1948, and then 1951 to 1975;
                      with E240 from 1948 to 1951;
                      with E242 from 1975 to 1991;
                      and with E330 from 1991 to 1995.

For one their firehouse isnt that big. Also on the most residential street around. Zero parking for members.

330/172 isnt much bigger but upstairs has a lot more space. They have a couple extra rooms for offices and the buildings guys have an office there.

D 12 was in E 250 the entire time was at E 248.  When I rode with B 41, we used to go there every night to pick up " the bag" and drove to each house in the battalion to deliver and pick up "the bag."  Back then, the battalion included E 249/L 113, E 310, E 255/L157, E 281/L147, E 250, and E 248.  L 174 was added to the mix at some point and that house went to B 58.  E 249/L 113 also went to B 38.
