Strange as may seem they E-43 &  L-59 are 1st due to this complex, the box they use is Fordham and Sedgwick Ave. The complex is E-81 administratively and they are 3rd due? When the box is transmitted E-81 has usually arrive 1st or 2nd due as it does get 3 & 2 due to complex having 9 separate buildings of the road with no hydrants inside. The entrance closer in distance to E-81 & L-46 quarters but for some reason unknown the nearest street box used is a block and 1/2 half away from main entrance to complexz? The 1st alarm assignmnet is E43,75,81 & L59,33 Bn. 19. There is a closer box on Sedgwick nearer to entrance but is not used for this complex.

Nothing strange here at all.  The Fordham and Sedgwick street box is 0.09 miles from the entrance to the Fordham Hill complex.  The Sedgwick and Bailey Av street box is 0.10 miles from the entrance.  The quarters of 81/46 is 0.94 miles from said entrance, quarters of 43/59 is 0.83 miles from that entrance.  All aforementioned distances are street map measured, as opposed to "crow flies".

Scoobyd No problem with what you have said, distance are real close. However Bailey Ave has 2 lanes in each direction a very wide street with 3 traffic lights to entrance of complex, Sedgwick is 1 lane each direction and narrows for a bit between Hall of Fame and W 183 also same 3 lights to entrance. My issue isnt with 43 and 59 but with the units assigned 2nd due coming from a greater distance and making many more turns than either 43 or 81 who each turn out of quarters and next turn is into complex. 1.13 miles from E-75

I'm with Mac on this one. The assignment should be 43,81,75   59,46.
Add me to this one too as 'line-of-sight' does not work here. North-south movement is much better than east-west in this area. A flat map doesn't show the hills, curves and narrow streets that E75/L33 have to traverse to get to up to Fordham Hill.

On the 10-77, isn't 48/56 closer than 79/37? Only two turns for 48/56, a left onto Fordham Rd and a right turn onto Sedgwick Ave.
