Interesting that this came in as a Con Ed gas detector activation. My job had Con Ed in for training a while back and they said they have had a number of working fires originate through their alarms. I've yet to respond a to a Con Ed detector that was a false alarm. I guess they seem to be working properly.

The Con Ed gas detectors are designed to detect atmospheric readings, which is found in smoke.
