If the brothers kept that from going to a fifth alarm that's a miracle. Church might be 125 years old or even older. It's a miracle the steeple didn't collapse years ago.

When the Companies switch to the command channel is it because of the size of the fire or the number of alarms etc. I worked in a small city near Boston (Somerville Ma. we have about 90,000 people in 4 square miles) we always switch to channel 2 on struck boxes if every one remembers to go to channel 2 sometimes during the excitement for the first few minutes of the incident thats all you here Fire Alarm telling the companies to go to channel 2. I was wondering if you have the same problem. Thanks.

Only Chiefs (or aide) go to the command channel. We use it to clear radio time for command messages, need relief companies, progress reports between chiefs, etc.
We do have a secondary tactical channel in the event that two jobs are stepping on each other. I personally think in 26 years I used it once.
