It’s insane how fast a car fire can spread to a private dwelling quickly but windows bars usually delay fire operations saw E301 and SQ288 zooming down Jamaica Ave quickly what does it mean 306 acting as 301 did 301 showed up

As listed above.. yes, E301 was 10-84 (1st due) - E306 was relocated to E301. In a nutshell, relocation is the movement of companies from their regular houses to different houses, to maintain coverage in certain areas.
Ok got it thanks for the info so a another engine goes over there to standby if another fire or emergency calls within that area

Another question how does fdny know what engines to use as relocation is it by how many calls they have per day is it which engines are closer to the quarters
The borough decision dispatcher is usually in charge of picking the relocaters, they take in account who has already relocated in the tour, route to relocation, available units, borough coverage as a whole, etc when they pick a company.

Very great information I’m starting to learn a lot I’m not too familiar with this stuff relocations is a good thing because if you don’t have a relocation you are screwed if a another emergency call comes up

Basically from what I used to understand, and this possibly has changed, was if any 2 or more houses with a shared border were unavailable for 30 minutes or more, at least 1 of the houses had to get a relocator. Theres a lot that goes into who goes where and which house maybe a must fill, etc. Like mentioned above the supervising fad will move equipment like chess pieces to make sure no part of the Boro is left unprotectected.

My hat goes off to all the FAD. All the awesome work they do behind just what we hear on the radio is professional, they are the on scene commanders until we arrive. Just a tip of the helmet to all of them. Thanks!
