75' Tower Ladders

Rescue 2 was not crushed under the West St. Bridge, Rescue 1 was. Rescue 2 was blasted with debris by the collapse, it was located on West & Liberty St. I recall Recue 2 having cab damage. There is a video documentary on Rescue 2 about 9/11. In the video, it shows Rescue 2 being crushed for scrap.

O.K., but I remember seeing two Saulsbury rescues under the collapsed bridge.

You might have seen one of the two Saulsbury High-Rise units guitarman, they were both crushed under the bridge. Rescue's 3,4, and 5 all survived with just debris and dust damage.

Is it me, or do the new sirens sound like a pissed off house cat???

"Downtownmedic", I thought it was me too. But I guess a pissed off cat is the best way to describe it. Bring back those "Q's.

Wow not impressed with that siren at all. On a plus note, it is good to see a lot of lighting on the sides of the truck. I am hoping that the companies put something a little bit better on or the department changes those things out.

That had to be broken. I can't believe the members would even keep that. Im sure someone can find an Old Federal in the basement's of 1 of their Vollie house's in LI. The several I have worked at you can. Agree, dying CAT!!!!

Sounds like the officer was hitting the siren and siren brake which caused the sounds to go like that, the new sirens have a brake located near foot pedal for shutting down siren when you arrive, however if you hit both it can cause this action. For those who do not know there are 2 foot pedals for air horn and siren and on top between the two is the siren brake.

Unfortunately, not broken. 2 foot buttons on the officer's side are for siren (woo up) and siren brake (woo down). Also Air horn foot button. Clever and annoying use of them all fairly simultaneously.
Guess we'll know the difference between 81 and 46 responding up Bailey!

if some vollie brings his volly siren to the house it will be in the dumpster outside of the house or thrown on the major deegan.  LID sirens belong on LID rigs. they got what they got and will do the best with what they were given. who cares what it sounds like!
