And, of course, the RAC.

I had an uncle back during the War Years who was Chief of Battalion 14. His nickname was "All Hands Kelly". 3 and 2, and Himself. He didn't like the Deputy showing up and taking over his fire. Not sure that was always the safest environment for the members but that's how it was done back then. And he was very well respected by his men.
This "All Hands" would have counted as a 3d alarm+. Things do change.

That was posted when it was only 5 engines (the original assignment with the signal 7-5) but your point still stands.

I thought with that many S/C engines it had to go to a 2nd alarm with new SOP.
Not if you special call them for “CFRD” albeit I didn’t hear of any patients.
