Maybe it's the wrong thread to ask them, but I do have a question:

What do the acronyms after some of the Battalions stand for?
For example: RUL, SGS etc?

Sometimes there are acronyms even after Engines and Ladders.
For example : "HRN"

Is there a complete list to look at or  could someone give me a short overview over the common ones?

There is a link I can't find it with all the answers so:

RUL- Resource Unit Leader
HRN High Rise Nozzle
SGS Staging Group Sector?  (Having a brain fart)

SGS is Sector Group Supervisor. Some of the chief acronyms are SAM (Staging Area Manager) and ARC (Air Recon Chief). Truck companies can have the acronyms CPC (Chemical Protective Clothing) or SSL (SOC Support Ladder). You can look through the Frequently Asked Questions thread below to see if there's any more or just ask away or message most of us on here.

Um... maybe those who do such a good job keeping us up-to-date could just spell out and not use abbreviations?  Just a suggestion.

Thank you very much guys for your quick help.
You can't find every acronym in the faq but it's a very interesting thread in general. :)

Just and FYI, the acronyms that are being used in this thread are not the acronyms we use in the CAD system.  For example, if an engine is assigned as the High Rise Nozzle unit (HRN above), we will see : "E099N" On the ticket.  The lis goes on, but it's a single letter.
