Too bad the city has now back pedaled on strict enforcement of laws & eliminated tactics like Stop & Frisk etc, etc...too much politically correct BS.....political correctness is someones opinion not a law....Law's are exactly that Law's which should be enforced with out worrying about hurting someone's "feelings" or fearing a protest.

Some thoughts on the '93 & '01 WTC Crimes....at the '93 job it appeared to be either a transformer or a car in the lower level of WTC 1....many Units responded & took positions like we normally would when our initial visual size up appears consistent w/a transformer or auto & not anticipating even a partial collapse.....at the '01 job it was apparent that a plane had entered an upper floor & definite potential for falling objects of many sorts (some already obvious) so many Units took an apparatus position accordingly still enough Rigs were hit subsequently but not as many as would have been if the '93 job had somehow resulted in a collapse (i am talking about occupied Rigs or operating w/Members in the proximity) on 9-11 even several Rigs that were thoughtfully placed under the North & South Walkways on West St were hit......something else to be thankful for that day in '01 was that school was back in session....suppose it was a week earlier & guys had brought their youngsters to work at the end of summer vacation...how many Rigs would have had kids sitting in them ?......as bad as the incident was on 9-11 Thank God it was not worse.

6-18 ...FROM NYC FIRE WIRE..... 6-18-22 & 6-18-33...CONTINUED RIP BROTHERS.... QUOTE....This date in history, the FDNY remembers the following members who died in the line of duty:
FF Adrian Curnen, E-26. Injured June 15, 1922, died June 18, 1922.
FF Curnen was off duty at his home in Far Rockaway when he went to help at a vacant house fire near his house. 2 chimney's on the house collapsed, the bricks crashed through the roof & 2nd floor. 5 members were removed unconscious. FF Donnelly & Curnen died.
Lt John W Smith, L-115. Injured May 19, 1933, died June 18, 1933
Box 7209 - 25-19 Borden Avenue, Queens.
Lt Smith forced a door and entered to search when he fell through the floor to the basement. UNQUOTE.
