Description Of Incident: Engine 6 o/s reporting heavy fire showing from a large vacant 4-story brick building. Battalion 2 o/s transmitting a Working Fire. Battalion 2 reporting heavy fire on all floors of the middle building. Command reporting main fire building heavily involved w/extension to exposure on the "C" side. Numerous L/S/O's w/master streams in operation. Ladder Companies opening up. All hands working. Originally reported as a structure fire. All searches negative.

A hot one today for Bridgeport's Bravest. This building, and several others identical to it in the Remington Arms Complex in Bridgeport has been the site of numerous fires, most arson-related, over the years. After a large fire last summer, one of the buildings was torn down.

BFD Engine 6 and Ladder 6, known as "Six in the City" have consitently been running rekindles since Saturday to Remington Arms.

At around 01:00hrs. this a.m., a Box Assignment was dispatched to Remington for another report of a fire. Engine 6 o/s reporting a small fire in the basement. 1 L/S/O w/quick k/d by Engine 6.

At around 08:50hrs. this a.m., another Assignment was dispatched to Remington for yet another reported fire. Engine 6 o/s once again w/a fire on the 1st floor. 1 L/S/O and once again a quick knock by the members of Engine 6 and Ladder 6.

"It's basically just smoldering right now," Bridgeport Assistant Fire Chief William Hathaway said. "At this point it either burns itself out or we'll just have to keep going back there."
