I belive his still around, I heard him a little while ago.  He has a new number now. All the Dispatchers got new numbers
 
fd347 i know u'll know. how many years does "this is brooklyn 123" have on the job?
 
I never asked but he has to have at least 3 years more than me which gives him in the neighborhood of 23 years.
 
George Muench has to be one of the most senior dispatchers on the job.  Dispatcher 102 in Brooklyn.  Great guy and a pleasure to listen to; as was, Warren Fuchs.

Even when he was still Disp. # 247, that guy would know every street in Brooklyn. You give him an intersection, he'd give you a box #, full first alarm assignment. He was great to hear on the radio too, esp. the July 4th 1988 audio CD.
 
bklyn 123 and 102 are the best to listen to. they never get excited either
 
162 was 429 before the number compression. If she doesn't wish to make herself known, I'll respect her privacy.
 
i believe "this is brooklyn 123" is nicknamed the "yak." Half the time he's the R.O.D. you never hear the "3" because he releases the button in the middle of the transmission!!! ;D

Another few favorites of mine are Brooklyn 170 and Staten Island (formerly Manhattan) 1-9-0, K
 
Yak is 123, formerly 324.
The former 808 is now a fire fighter.
The former Bronx 222 retired.
The former 144 that I knew worked in Queens. He's been retired for years also.

Oh, that's what happened to 190, he was pretty amusing to listen to at 3am when it seemed like everything was either a 10-92 or a worker.
Not a favorite but I always liked how Manhattan 748 (forgot her new number) used to say her number; those little unique touches that makes FDNY radio so interesting.
 
Ha ha!  You guys slay me.  Like every FAD is like an on-air personality of a broadcast station.

What's next?  8x10 glossies?  Autographs?  Groupies?
