WHAT IS THAT 3RD BAY DOOR FOR IN THE QUARTERS OF E7 L1 B1

I was referring to the period when the WTC was being built (1970's) and L-10's firehouse on Fulton St. was demolished.RPM3311 said:after 9/11 ladder 10 was never with 7,1,1 theres an enitre article about them being with engine 4 and ladder 15. Plus they couldnt have been between engine 7 and ladder 1 due to the fact that they keep the Battalion there and a ladder would not fit in the third bay of the house as there is a housewatch desk in that bay.

E-91/L-43 and E-93/L-45 and the E-264 (E-264 was originally a double co.)/E-328/L-134 firehouses were each built for a double (two-section) engine company and a ladder. There was also a wall separating the engine company from the ladder company and each had its own housewatch desk. This was also the same in some 2 bay engine and ladder firehouses built from around 1909 to 1918. Some examples were: E-81/L-46, E84/L-34, E-90/L-41, E-92/L-44, E-94/L-48, E-279/L-131, E-280/L-132, E-281/L-147, E-282/L-148. In the Bronx, separate firehouses for ladder companies were built next to existing engine company firehouses. Those were: L-42 which is at 661 Prospect while E-73 is at 655 Prospect Avenue and L-47 at 1214 Castle Hill Avenue while E-64 was at 1220 Castle Hill Ave. In Fact, there is a small courtyard between these two firehouses. The most unusual one was L-49's first firehouse built in 1913 at 1079 Nelson Avenue which was originally directly behind and back to back from the 1080 Ogden Ave. firehouse of E-68. In 1947, L-49 moved around the block into 1080 Ogden with E-68.tbendick said:![]()
The door to the right has a wall the divides it from the rest of the firehouse..
Last time I was in it, was after the 11th and it was setup for the command post.

Engine 91 is the same way. Communications repair techs use the right bay, has nothing to do with the firehouse. You do however also have RAC 1 and a Reserve Ladder in the left bay.
