Yeah, there are several firehouses with over 2-3 bays that once had companies in them. Engine 1/Ladder 24 was once home to the 3rd Division, which is still labeled above their third smaller garage bay. I believe Engine 91 had other companies housed there as well.

On the subject, does anyone know if any other companies were housed at Engine 4/Ladder 15 at one time besides the Decon. Unit?

Eng 233 & L176  has Three Bay Doors, the original plans for the firehouse had Two Engines, One Ladder, and a BC  which never materialized.

There was a picture of a salvation corps buggy that took up one of the bays at 4/15.

I had heard several years ago that 176 was supposed to get one of the 1989/1991 110ft Seagrave Heavy Duty Rearmounts but that it wouldn't fit into 176's quarters, or there was a weight problem.

Anyone else remember something like that?

.......the 3rd door which was basically a separate side of the house (but know has an opening in the wall) used to be the Fire Museum before it moved to Spring St....it is now the Manhattan Borough Command & some admin offices...the vehicles are not POVs but are Dept vehicles from the Boro & others who are assigned there.

.....I had covered in LAD*165 (Sleepless Knights) several times when they had the 110 Ft Aerial.....the house was old & the floor not reinforced or replaced at that time .....also165 relocated to 126 on Princeton St often where the qtrs were just as old & the floor was not reinforced then so i do not think there would have been a problem w/one in 176s house on Rockaway Ave....i never remember hearing anything about them getting one back then......also some FH doors are narrower than others but all are wide enough & high enough for the 110 footer.

The original design was for the 3rd door to be Ladder 1's bay when Engine was a double engine company using the two other
bays.

SoHo:

The site is www.nyfd.com, scroll down on the main page and there's a section in PDF that lists every FDNY unit that existed with org/disbanded dates and their locations.

Also, in regards to E7, L1, Batt.1; I rode on Ladder 1 one time in the early 90's and at that time the Ladder was in the 3rd bay and the Battalion was in the middle.
