NYCPD had 1976 had Pontiac Lemans also.

They also used Catalinas and Venturas. Did any other agencies get Pontiacs in 1976? I wouldn't be surprised if NYC placed a large order for them and several agencies used them.

A bit off the subject but if you remember the Ventura's of that era, the body style was basically the same for all GM vehicles and the Chevy Nova was the acronym, i.e.;

                                                                N=      Nova    Chevy
                                                                O=      Omega  Oldsmobile
                                                                V=      Ventura  Pontiac
                                                                A=      Astro      Buick

On the far left of this photo, just in front of the rescue, is what appears to be a Ford from between 1952 & 1954 (all essentially yhe same body), and above  that, at the intersection, is a '57 Ford.  Also interesting in this photo (at least to me) is one of the few pictures I've ever seen of FDNY's Flxible Ambulance #1 at a fire.  It's in the block beyond the fire, on the opposite side of the street from the 52-54 Ford Chief's car. Caption says it was a 7-alarm fire on March 27 in the loft district.  Anyone know what year?

And another one from 1940.  Not sure of the make, but I'm guessing it's a Chevy:

No date, (definitely NOT 1936 as the caption says) but appears to be a 1939 Ford:

Looks like video shows Water Tower responding with crew of 3.  Anyone know what the manning was of Water Towers?  They operated from the early 1900s to the 1950s.

It's a '56 Ford.  You can tell because the chrome ring in the taillight is in the center of the assembly rather than the outside as it was on the '55.  The '54 had a different body style (pretty much the same as the '52 & '53).

I disagree, Kevin.  Ford never made a taillight that looked like that.  My guess is that it's a '61 Dodge . . . see this one:

Anyone have a year or make on this?

When I started riding with the 38th Battalion in 1968 they had one, I believe it's a 1968 Ford Fairlane station wagon.

I don't think so, Mets.  Here's a '68 Ford Fairlane:

Oops . . . my bad.  The FIRST pic is, indeed, a Ford.  But the SECOND is a '77 Plymouth

The car in the photo is definitely a Plymouth . . . I think a 1977 Plymouth Fury like this one:

Plymouth.1977.Fury%20Blue.jpg
  The 2nd photo that you posted is a 1977 Plymouth Fury, The 2nd photo that kfd274 posted is a 1973 Plymouth Suburban Station Wagon. A quick way to verify is to look at the headlight configuration: the '73 Suburban Station Wagon had round headlights with the low beams & high-beams side by side and the '77 Fury had rectangular headlights with the low-beams above the high-beams.

You're right, Mets, about that one.  But the one I was referring to was this one, a '77 Plymouth:
