When did FDNY organize and then disband salvage units?

Where were they stationed and when were they called?

I tried to get the thread, but it keeps coming back to my question.  Any suggestions??

kfd274 - OK, this is how I got there -    went to "Home" where all forums are listed.  Selected "Search" from toolbar.  Entered "FDNY Salvage Companies" into "Search For" box and hit "Search".  It lists your new thread first.  2nd thead is the 2009 Salvage Company thread.
