The five 2002 E-One Cyclone II rescues have Will-Burt 18-foot telescoping light towers, each with three 1500 watt lights and a 20 kw Harrison hydraulic generator.

However, Rescue 1?s 2007 Pierce does not have a light tower.

Here we go again, the city is going into a budget crunch. In everyones opinion can the FDNY brass safely disband anymore companies in the city? If so which companies.

They "can" and will do whatever they want to, against any objecting or semblance of fact and reason.

Should they?  Of course not.

No way. If anything, we need more, not less. IMHO, Queens could use at least another few truck companies out east, maybe another engine and truck in the Rockaways with all the upcoming development, and a truck at 314. Reopen 261. The Bronx could use another truck with 97 Engine. SI could use another 3 and 2, a Battalion and a dedicated Squad. I haven't really taken a good look at Brooklyn or Manhattan recently, so I can't really say what they need, aside from maybe another Midtown Truck.

Looking at what you fellas have now, and what FDNY150 said; you can also use a few more Battalions & maybe bring back 1 Division. The span of control in some of the Battalions is just way off.

To get back to the original question:  what about the MERV's and the MRTU?  Or are they considered EMS rigs rather than fire??  Only response I can find listed for them is a 10-60.

They're considered EMS rigs.

I have not been in the Rockaways for years, ( when i was working for Hunter Ambulance on Inwood Ave ), about 10 years ago. Someone mentioned redevelopment in the Rockaways. Is that true. WOW, that would be great. Always thought that all that abandoned beach front property would be worth a pretty penny. How many trucks cover the Rockaways and is that 1 house still housing 2 engines and a truck. thanks
