New FDNY Probie Class Graduating

I understand that the head of this FDNY Probie Class, number 1 in the class, is from my neighborhood. I think he got his choice for assignments and he picked the very busy Bronx Ladder Co 33. I don't even know if he knows me. But we here in suburban Connecticut, seem to produce some pretty good stuff.

Does anybody know what the graduation rate for this probie class was?  The last class has such awful statistics for graduation I was wondering of this class did any better.  Also, does anybody know what the letters in the vacation column mean?

Don't think he was #1.

The class valedictorian was Probationary Firefighter Joseph Andres, salutatorian was Probationary Firefighter Michael Hayes and the physical fitness award went to Probationary Firefighter William Roe.

You are correct. Sorry, I got the wrong information. Thank you, and for all the new Probies, I wish them all a safe and rewarding career.

286 graduated and usually they start with 320. Maybe someone otj can provide a more in depth answer but as I understand it, the letter indicates when your vacation is scheduled for. The dates of your vacation correspond to the letter.

Your letter and group number determines the vacation dates.
A chart comes out each year with the dates.

I noticed that a couple of the ladder companies were getting 4 probies (all reporting on the same day and time). How does that work?

Probies are all assigned the same day but probably assigned to different groups.  That way they don't work together.  Spread out over the 25 groups.
