Engine 81 has yet to receive their new pumper
I hear ya. I'm not going to start , we could be here until tomorrow, but l dont no why is not I/S yet... As of today Saturday July 3rd, 2021 the last pumper accepted by FDNY was E 290

Very sharp pieces, I have to say that I love seeing how each generation of apparatus builds off the last making them more and more effective, as seen here with the diamond plate cab guard.

Interesting how they are white and red on R*1, but yellow and red on SQ*8
NFPA specifies what are acceptable colors for the stripes. Supposedly, the next edition will allow a wider variety of colors as long as they contrast each other. The Sq-8 style appear to be NFPA compliant. The Rescue 1 version is not. Either way, can't fault the added layer of safety.
