News of Members

I am looking for a member whose username was "fdny1075k".
He hasn't been on this site since July 2019.

Prior to that date he was very active on this site posting jobs in the Bridgeport, Ct area.
I believe he lived in Trumbull, Ct at the time and was really into the fire service.

We used to talk about jobs all the time.

This article posted made me think of him

His goal was to become a career firefighter, and I believe he is now on the job in Waterbury, Ct one of the busiest fire departments in the state.
He might be assigned to Truck 1/Ladder 1.

If anybody can reach him ask him to send me a private message on here addressed to Willy D (nfd2004).

Thank you
Bill Dennis, aka Willy D

On the subject of members we haven't heard from in a while, does anyone know how Mack is doing. He was a frequent contributor on this site and a wealth of knowledge. Any information would be appreciated and if anyone has contact with him, please send him my regards.

Thank you for all the good wishes above, on my 80th (Can't believe it) birthday. I am still learning and still love the brotherhood of firefighters.
My oldest, grandson works is a firefighter in a busy Engine in the Philadelphia Fire Dept., and he also works for the Underwriters Laboratory at their facility near the Philadelphia Airport, as an Engineering consultant. I always try to keep current and my close relationship with him helps. I am also blessed by the great people on NYCFire.net. that teach me and help me to examine what is going on in the fire service.
Thank You Brothers. Captain Bob Rainey FDNY Engine 26 retired

"AuxWarYearsCapt" Doug M., is being treated in the hospital for some breathing problems.
He expects to be there for at least another week or so.
He is at St Vincents Hospital in Middleburg, Fla.

Address for that hospital is:

For those of you who have his phone number he says it's okay to give him a call.

One of our buddies, fltpara16 (also known as Steve Elliott, retired battalion chief of the Albemarle County FD in Virginia) has done it to himself. Six weeks ago he suffered a posterior dislocation of his left shoulder that resulted in a fractured shoulder and other significant damage. Yesterday his left shoulder was repaired by the outstanding team at the UVA Orthopedics Center. The surgery went very well, but the old Parrot Medic will be grounded for 3-6 months. Wish him your best, if you will.

I certainly wish you well Steve "fltpara16".

Guess who else will be wearing that same type of sling on his RIGHT arm.
Uncle Willy D "NFD2004".

Got a roto cuff tear in my right shoulder scheduled for surgery May 27th.
Got measured for my sling last week.

Been practicing trying to tie my shoes, pull my pants up, brush my teeth, eating and even wiping myself after going number 2 using my left hand only.
It sure isn't easy.

Even typing on here using my left hand may not be possible.

Might (?) need to recruit our buddy "raybrag" to cover me with typing in the monthly Fire Activity Report for June and July '26.
