I don’t know if this is needed, but I found the following link just now. It’s a list of all apparatus registration numbers department-wide as of 1999. https://nyfd.com/all_city/apparatus.pdf
From the Fire Bell Club newsletterI dont know how informative this is, but I just had a big scroll through a NYC finalised report (alongside Manhattan Dispatch) and found at least these cars responded:
Car 1 - Commissioner
Car 2 - 1st Deputy Commissioner
Car 3 - Chief of Department
Car 4 - Chief of Operations
Car 4B - AC of Operations??
Car 4C - DAC of Operations??
Car 4D - DAC of Operations??
Car 4E - DAC of Operations??
Car 4P - Chief of Planning
Car 5 - Unknown
Car 9 - Unknown
Car 9C - Unknown
Car 9D - Unknown
Car 33B - Unknown
Car 40A - Unknown (Chief of Rescue Ops?)
Car 40B - Unknown (Chief of Hazmat Ops?)
Car 40C - Unknown (Chief of Marine Ops?)
Car 6 - Chief of EMS
Car 6A - Assistant Chief of EMS
Car 6C - Tour 1 EMS Chief Officer (Unsure of it's actual role - CO was simply it's description on a report)
Car 63 - EMS Division 3 Chief
Car 64 - EMS Division 4 Chief
Car 65 - EMS Division 5 Chief
Car 621 - EMS Division 2 Deputy Chief
Car 661 - EMS Division 6 Deputy Chief
There were obviously more which I haven't found, but this list I've found so far which I can confirm from radio tapes, or FDNY reports.
Those with a '??' is simply assumed based off of current roles. I strongly suspect the car 40's are what the car 11's are now - based off of how '40C' early on says that all the boats are available in the river and a comment regarding rescue relocations from '40A'. (If this is true: C40A is Rescue Operations, C40B is Hazmat Operations, C40C is Marine Operations).

It must've changed since that news letter before September 11th (screenshots from FDNY NYC Final Report)From the Fire Bell Club newsletter

According to the list on Page 4, they operated at 3 Boxes, 8087 (WTC 2), 0031 (Broad @ Beaver St), and 9998 (which isn't even an assigned Box #, 9950-9999 are used when a Box is already out and another Alarm is coming in for the same number, not sure what the original box was.)Perhaps someone here knows something about this…
E14 isn’t discussed much in terms of 9/11 operations. Their operations report states they were called at 1000, however in Jeff Sutch’s footage, they are very clearly shown to be a couple blocks north of the site before the second plane hit. Does anyone know more about their work that day? Thanks!
Fun fact: 8087 is actually the box for 2WTC, 8084 was for WTC1. They assigned 8087 for tower 1 for some reason.According to the list on Page 4, they operated at 3 Boxes, 8087 (WTC 2), 0031 (Broad @ Beaver St), and 9998 (which isn't even an assigned Box #, 9950-9999 are used when a Box is already out and another Alarm is coming in for the same number, not sure what the original box was.)
That might explain the confusion some companies had when arriving at the command post on the lobby of 1 World Trade and Chief Pfeifer getting a FF to write " Tower 1" on the deskFun fact: 8087 is actually the box for 2WTC, 8084 was for WTC1. They assigned 8087 for tower 1 for some reason.
Wish there was a current listing like thisI don’t know if this is needed, but I found the following link just now. It’s a list of all apparatus registration numbers department-wide as of 1999. https://nyfd.com/all_city/apparatus.pdf
I belive when the bulding was hit it knocked the systems in the hulding offline and the alarm box in 2 WTC went off which they got which might be why they transmitted it as 8087Fun fact: 8087 is actually the box for 2WTC, 8084 was for WTC1. They assigned 8087 for tower 1 for some reason.
270Which Squad didn't go?
I belive they might have gone later after the collapses
I believe, based on radio traffic posted on YouTube, E14 was relocating into a Manhattan house and, after the second hit, was told to remain in service upon asking to be assigned.Perhaps someone here knows something about this…
