A question I have had for a while, when a Satellite responds how many members of the engine are on the Satellite?

two the companies second ecc and another member are on the satellite and the officer and other members ride on the original engine

Just a quick question. What are each Satellites capabilities?

Large Diameter Hose, 4700 gpm water cannon, no pump, foam concentrate (no sure of the amount)

When the Satellites were first established as part of the Super Pumper System, there were three of them.  They were each manned by two (2) firefighters/tour and were not paired with an engine company.  They were supervised by a Satellite Officer (Lieutenant) who was driven by a firefighter detailed from the Super Pumper.  The officer and firefighter responded in a station wagon (before Suburbans, etc.) and carried a manifold in addition to the manifold carried by each Satellite.  The Satellite Officer was quartered with Satellite #1.

Thanks "JJ" I do remember that.

According to Griffiths "Operational Reference Guide" here goes. Satellite carries 2500' of 5-inch hose with 4 1/2" connections. In addition they carry 400' of 3 1/2". Manning comes from its parent engine company. Pg 83 FDNY Ops Ref

They also carried two Hi-Ex Foam generators & a foam nozzel for the Sat or Tower Ladder use.
