I was reading through the workers so far this year on the Bronx thread, and what is going on up the top end of the bronx, 62/32 and 63/39 should start calling themselves 'The Fire Factory'!!! Batt 15 is chasing his own tail running from fire to fire!! Happy days indeed for the smoek eaters up there..

In LAcountyFD, there is a fire station (Not LAFD), that is in South central LA just north of Watts, that has two engine companies, and the engines do about 5,000-6,000 calls a year, with about 300 working fires, actual fires. They have a paramedic squad as well, they also attend a large number of medical calls, due to the area they serve, but their fire load is high.

The LAcoFD Truck/Quint, a 100ft tillered KME aerial, that serves that area as well in its own firehouse, does over 5,500 calls a year!!! on its own!!

I aiways thought L26 FDNY or L123 were the busiest trucks in the nation, obviously not!!

I would actually like to compare notes with the FDNY and L.a. County or City. What does L.A. County consider a "Working Fire". Is it food on the stove needing just some ventlitation, or a fire with a line stretched and operating. I also know that some incidents that FDNY sends 1/1 to, often gets a much larger response in the L.A. area. There are many differences between East and West Coast Fire Depts in America.

In 2009 LAcoFD Light force 147, (south central LA) did 4,476 runs, with 295 working fires. LAcoFD doesnt count workers as fires, unless they are actually workin structure or auto fires, nothing else.
