Was there a bunch of other activity at the time? 44 seems like an odd pick as the HMTU... obviously 270 is closer but I assume they were tied up... SQ252, SQ61?
At 9/11, the 40 cars were for SOC. Downey (Rescue) was 40A, Chief of HAZMAT I believe 40B, Chief of Marine 40C. That said, these aren't the designations today as SOC are all 11 cars. Also definitely not the Queens boro, which is Car 9.
Can I also add: some photographers/videographers have built personal relationships with some of the chiefs in question, and have a proven track record for showing respectful discretion on what they film and therefore likely get some latitude that a random member of the public likely wouldn't...
Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think the extra CTUs have all of the capabilities of CTU1, so I am guessing CTU1 is assigned as normal, but given CTU1 is coming from SOC and CTU4 is much closer, they assign both
Rundown for the BX 3rd alarm indicates SB-02 was assigned. Earlier, I heard SB responding and they signified they were SB-01. I know a second SB sometimes gets staffed for special events - is there something going on this weekend or is this something new?
The 33 reported they had a collapse of a 10x15 setback with one pin. Per FDNY press release, 309/159 with the assistance of R2 got the aided out quickly. 33 also gave AH shortly after arrival.
