    Queens box numbers

Is there any rhyme or reason as to how the box numbers are set up in Queens. For example Manhattan is very easy to figure out basically the numbers start low in lower Manhattan and get higher as it goes up. Is there any way to know what area the box is in just by hearing the number?

    FDNY radio operations

I've listened to FDNY radio a little bit lately and I never hear them go en route, call out on the scene or go back in service. I was wondering how they did all of this in the FDNY. I know that they have MDT's but I don't know if that has anything to do with it. Any response is appreciated.
