    Back Step Riding

    Anyone know when did Backstep riding officially end? I know Companies we're doing it until the mid 80's but I'm assuming it ended somewhere between around the late 60's to late 70's.

    Question regarding 10-13?

    I know the Fire Marshals and EMS use 10-13, but most sites that list 10 codes say only the Marshals can use 10-13. Is there any truth to that or do companies just have to use 10-47 and 10-48?

    1993 Long Island Rail Road shooting.

    On December 7th, 1993 Colin Ferguson shot 25 people, killing 6. Today marks 30 years since the tragic event on the LIRR. Ferguson was sentenced 315 years and eight months to life. He'll be long gone before he'll be able to get parole.

    Why isn't SQ8 and SQ1 assigned on there 1st, 2nd and 3rd Due Boxes as Engines?
