Gees!!  Walton Ave. again.  How far from the 9/27 5th was this?
  WATSON  ;)

Isn't it the same building (which I figured out all by myself)?  The last time it was 1920 Walton Ave.  So why is it Watson this time?

It is Watson Ave because the fire was on Watson Ave.

( FDNY BOX 2845 - BRONX )  -  FDNY BATTLING A MAJOR 5TH ALARM FIRE IN A MULTIPLE DWELLING ON WATSON AVENUE IN THE SOUNDVIEW AREA OF THE BRONX IN NEW YORK CITY.  *****( THERE WAS A 2ND ALARM FIRE IN THE SAME BUILDING AND FLOOR LAST WEEK )*****

Tremendous coverage of this Bronx Fifth by the members here - for those who couldn't be there OR monitor at the time.

SPECIAL THANKS TO: "Signal 73" for his Excellent Rundown.
"mikeindabronx" for his Excellent Photos - Once again each photo tells a story in itself.
"THEMAJESTIRIUM1" for AGAIN being there to film this heavy fire activity.
"waterboy" for the link to photos too.

I'm gonna pass this onto the non member friends of mine, who are buffs/firefighters etc, that I have been trying to recruit for membership here. I hope this is a little bit of honey to attract those wanna BEES.
(They might be afraid somebody might ask them a question about pump pressures or something, and they don't know the answer, so that's why they don't sign up).

So you're applying a little "pump pressure", right, Uncle Wilmer?  ::) :P ::)

Ray, as we both know, "sometimes you need to increase the pressure a little bit", whether we're talking putting out fires or trying to start one to make a guy move a little faster.

Big Hugs,
Uncle Wilmer

It is Watson Ave because the fire was on Watson Ave.

Please clarify - being that it's the same building, why does the street change from Walton to Watson??

BoroCall:

Hopefully this will clear it up:

Sep 27:  5th Alarm at 1920 Walton Ave, Box 2985.  Fire on the 6th floor & cockloft of a 6 story H Type MD 85X120.

Sep 29:  2nd Alarm at 1486 Watson Ave, Box 2845..  Fire in a 3 story H Type 200 X100, fire in the cockloft.

Oct 1:  5th Alarm at 1486 Watson Ave, Box 2845..  B-3: "Same situation as the other day smoke from the vents and cock loft ."

So yes, there were two 5th Alarms.  But the first one was on Walton, and the second was on Watson, where there had been a 2nd Alarm 2 days earlier.  Capisce?

On 9/27 There was a 5th alarm at box 2985 for 1920 WALTON Ave. Walton Ave is in the west Bronx one block east of Jerome Ave. On 9/29 there was a 2nd alarm at box 2845 for 1486 WATSON Ave. Watson Ave is in the east Bronx one block north of Bruckner Blvd. Then on 10/1 there was a 5th alarm again at box 2845 for 1486 WATSON Ave again. Two different streets in different parts of the borough.

OK - Thank you for the clarification.  That is where I got screwed up, when I heard the report of the same building I was of the impression they (being the media) were talking about the 5th on the 27th.
